October 17th: Not that guy

Did I read that right?  In the first half of the BYU @ TCU football contest today, the Cougars got 14 yards total offense.  Had to have been a typo.  FOURTEEN YARDS….TOTAL OFFENSE in thirty minutes of football??!!! How is that even possible? Don’t get me wrong.  I’m not “piling on” the BYU football program when [...]

October 16th: A Fill-in Invitation

This was M2B:) flattering:  Julie de Azevedo Hanks sends me a text asking if I can fill in for her at a presentation she accidentally double booked.  Actually, I don’t think she doubled booked it, something just got lost in cyberspace and she was at Disneyland with her family (and I suspect 80% of greater [...]

October 15th: A M2B:) Afternoon

I spent the afternoon at the Provo Canyon School for Girls telling stories and singing songs.  Between sixty and seventy girls opened up their hearts and let me share what I’ve learned about hope, and holding on and letting go.  I found myself caring about these young women, deeply…more than I would have thought possible [...]

October 14th: Conversations with India

I’m not a tech savy guy.  I’m also a little bit deaf so I miss a few things in conversations with those who are either “low speakers” or still learning to speak English.  So you can imagine my delight in spending a total of 4 hours on the phone with 5 different people IN INDIA [...]

October 13th: A little celebration

I loved this:  Got a call from a musical buddy who’d just had a fantastic experience producing a record and wanted to share it, right after it had happened.  A full orchestra was added to one of his productions and the parts were beyond perfect for the track.  And to top this off, he got [...]

October 12th: A M2B:) Invitation

My friend Jason Deere invited me to join him and his Nashville Tribute band in some shows in Logan, UT and then in Arizona the first week in November.  While working on the logistics of getting myself from a TOFW in Portland on the first Friday in Nov. to Show Low AZ on Saturday I [...]

October 11th: Sunny Time

This morning Bucky burst into our bedroom with a bold announcement.  ”It’s SUNNY TIME”  Time to get up and get going…The Sun is Shining!!!! And it was…all day long.  Sunny time!!!  A four year old’s enthusiasm for life made it brighter, somehow.  Thanks Bucky for Sunny Time.

October 10th: Baby Sadie’s Birthday Dinner

We celebrated my granddaughter’s birthday (Oct. 9th) today, along with my sister’s grandson Collin’s 3rd anniversary of coming to the planet.  A house FULL of family (love it) and presents (love ‘em) and food (that’s what I’m talkin’ about). I was particularly taken with Sadie’s MAIN present.  It was a little keyboard with mic and accompanying [...]

October 9th: Football overload

When I got back home today from Texas I found College Football Game Day in full swing at Scotshaven.  So many games to follow, and, oddly enough, soooooo much time to do so. All day in fact.  My son-in-law was the keeper of the clicker and thus switched from game to game throughout the day. [...]

October 8th: Thanks Texas

Flew to the Dallas/Fort Worth Airport today for a Time Out For Women event in Plano Texas.  GREAT crowd (over 1,750) and lots of love.  I’ve never been really crazy about the landscape in Big D but I LOVE the people.  Friendly, gracious, funny, considerate, (with a little bit of sass) makes for good times [...]
