October 27th: The gift of the nap

I did something wonderful today.  I gave my wife and my daughter and my granddaughter a gift.  I gave them a nap.  Put them in their napping spots, closed the doors, plumped their pillows took Bucky on an adventure which took all afternoon. I’m currently patting myself on the back…taking full (and I man FULL) credit [...]

October 26th: Giving vs Receiving/Listening vs Talking

So, is it always better to give than to receive?  What do you think? Most times?  Some times? Always? Depends?  The follow-up question is similar.  Is it better to listen than to talk?  Most times? Some times? Always? Depends? When it comes to relationships in general I tend to believe in the “give and listen” more [...]

October 25th: Wipe Out

I think the weekend took it’s toll.  I’m wiped out, but whatever effort was extended, it was more than worth it. I require nothing more today than the quiet feeling of gratitude that has filled me up.

October 24th: Prairie Winds

I drove the MB Cruiser Motorhome/Van back to Utah from Denver through the scariest windstorm I’ve ever encountered.  Before today’s drive I  thought all those weather channel shows about the power of nature to move man and beast I would have rolled my eyes and said something about special effects.  No more.  I experienced a [...]

October 23rd: Dracula in Denver

Flew into Denver today to catch a matinee of  Bram Stoker’s DRACULA at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. My son Scott is playing a cool part in the play and I was excited to see him slaying vampires and speaking in the requisite period British accent.  Lynne and her best friend from high [...]

October 22nd: Atlanta

The flight to Atlanta was great and when the plane touched down I had the M2B:) unexpected joy of being merely a short train ride away from the hotel and convention center where I’d be performing tonight.  I was excited to return to Atlanta for Time Out For Women but my mood was elevated  (by [...]

October 21st: How Ya’ Doin’?

I don’t know exactly why this happens, but it happens to me every couple of weeks.  I get this feeling I need to call someone I know and the feeling won’t let go until I make the call.   I used to think that the one I called probably needed a call that day and [...]

October 20th: Photos and Shallow Hal

Today was the photo shoot for the Utah Valley Magazine article that’s due to hit the stands this holiday season.  It was fun.  Making the house look like Christmas on one of the most gorgeous fall days of the year was a bit of a challenge, but the photographer seemed to know what she was [...]

October 19th: Bad News Tuesday

Tough day today.  With a house this full of people it’s impossible NOT to have one of those days where things are not exactly the Lonely Goater Scene in Sound of Music.   Lynne’s upset with me about something that will have to be explained to me by a psychic.  My dad’s obsessed with a [...]

October 18th: Honey-baked

Tonight my daughter Meggan asked if she could shoot a video of me answering questions for a presentation she will be giving tomorrow.   It was about 9:30pm when the camera started rolling and I wasn’t really sure what she was after but I am in show business, so when the record button lights up, [...]
