June 25th: “I think I’ll put you in my iPod”

Here’s a Mission To Be Happy moment.  While I was having a little M2B:) district conference at the Deseret Book Store in Bountiful early this evening I met a great family with two wonderful young daughters.  About 8 and 5 years old.  I found out the the younger sister, the five year old, was a dancer and I asked if she’d consider doing a dance to one of my songs.  It was obvious she was not a frivolous young lady.  She carried herself with much grace, and so I played on my piano an instrumental arrangement of my song It’s Real and she danced.

It was so lovely, and she took it very seriously.  Her hand movements and posture were particularly impressive to me.  After her performance she and her family moved on and I focused my singing and storytelling on other passers-by.  About twenty minutes later, as her family was leaving the story she came up to me and whispered:  “I think I’ll put you in my iPod”

Doesn’t get much better than that.
