May 24th: A M2B:) Mission of service

How perfect:  The last episode of 24 airs on the 24th of May.   I was completely prepared for Jack Bauer to die tonight.   With the life he’s lived, I figured the odds were against him making it….past season 3.  But the miracle of television fiction and suckers like me who just cheer the impossible have made eight seasons a reality.

I’ll be honest. I spent a portion of the day preparing myself for Jack’s demise.  Thought I’d sing a little Together Forever at the end, although I’m not sure who the guy would be Together Forever with.  Or where.   But I digress.

Jack Bauer didn’t die. President Taylor didn’t sign the peace treaty.  Charles Logan has brain damage from shooting himself poorly, and if he gets revived for a spin-off I hope an entire season is devoted to him drooling pitifully, with a 24 hour stop watch with Bauer’s face on it, hung around his neck.

I’m currently free from the burdens I’ve carried knowing that I had information vital to our national security and didn’t know what to do with it.   I’m free from the Monday addiction to an impossibly paced television show.  And I’m free to now go forth and find happiness in service to others, rather than serving myself to an extra bowl of chips.

I’m prepared to offer my services to counsel those poor and lost souls who feel they must find out which country Jack  will escape to, and if he’ll ever see his granddaughter again. I’ll feel their pain, and share their concern.  If they fear the worst, I’ll offer hope.  I’ll say things like: I think plastic surgery will be involved.  Or, possibly, suggest Greece as a place a former CTU operative with no money and little to live for could hang out in relative obscurity and a familiar amount of chaos.

Or not.

I just love you. You put things into persective so eloquently. I have felt sorry for myself all day but now must say I can so use my Monday nights more productively than letting Jack Bauer into my living room which I have done for the past 7 years (I didn’t watch season one) I need to get addicted to something more uplifting. But I have to admit I sure did like him.

Well, Monday nights are not a wash… They will start doing Castle Season 2 reruns shortly and you too can be hooked on the fun and excitement of a thriller collaboration with edge and laughs. (thankfully already picked up for season 3)… Yeah, I know what you mean about Monday nights.

‘24′ was pretty awesome last night although I knew Jack wasn’t gonna die-they’re making a ‘24′ movie. And yes, I”m also about 95% sure I know what country Jack is escaping to. I heard it when I heard about the movie-right from Keifer’s lips on the Ellen DeGeneres Show. So maybe we’ll see Logan back but with brain damage?

We gave up watching it two seasons ago. I figure, anybody who puts himself in the middle of violent chaos on a regular basis needs his privacy -
