March 22nd: Awkward

So this is a totally awkward moment.  When I started keeping track of my M2B:) moments January 1st I didn’t understand how to handle comments.   I was unaware until today that I needed to click an “approve” button or no one would see the comment but me.  I know this is lame, but it’s the truth.  I thought the comments magically appeared without my input, but they don’t.   I AM SOOOOOOO SORRY that I was so ill equipped as a blogger that you who have been commenting haven’t felt welcomed or acknowledged.  Please, please forgive me.

But here’s the good news for me.   I’ve figured out how to access your comments and it’s been really, really fun. This is the first day I realized that people are sort of taking the M2B:) journey with me and want to share their thoughts. Wow, somebody’s reading this, and the feedback has been so wonderful.  Thank you, thank you, thank you.

So apologies are always a bit awkward.  But for me, the post apology period is worse.  I’m sure there’s a chip in my brain that malfunctions in this area.  I keep wondering if things are really okay or if I need to re-do the apology.  It’s the apologetically OCD chip, I believe, that’s responsible for this problem. But since I’m on a mission to be happy, and I’m learning to find the joy in the present moment, I believe I’m make GREAT strides and so today I’m focusing on the positive…

But did you really understand how sorry I am about your comments that never got posted?

Don’t worry – we all do things like that sometimes!! I’m not sure about your blog program, but many of them have an option where the comments don’t need to be moderated. Sometimes that causes very unwanted comments to be posted publicly though (although hopefully you don’t get those types of comments). I still choose to moderate & approve comments people make on my blog, but then again I only have about 30 people following my blog & they don’t comment too much. If my blog ever becomes more popular and/or has more comments coming in, I may choose not to moderate every comment just because it’s time consuming.

Anyway…. I think your blog is wonderful & it’s great to read & try to find the positive in life. I’ve loved your music for a long time and loved seeing you a few years ago at a TOFW in upstate NY. Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful talents with the rest of us!!

Yes of course. WE also understand how GLAD you are that there are comments, that you are not alone, and that your journey is shared. That is what is most important. Thanks Michael, for being human.

Of course we understand and accept your apology. This whole blog thing can be very overwhelming and confusing. You are heard and your blog makes such a difference. You give hope to so many of us. I look forward to reading your daily update and the comments that come with it.

You mean, you’re like…………..the REST OF US???? Dang it!

And if it makes you feel better……when we/I post a comment, it is for you to read. So, if you were able to read the comments even if others couldn’t……..well, mission accomplished! No worries! Life is good man!

ok, call me a swiss cheese head (No apologetically OCD chip here… a mind like swiss cheese and things really disappear into those holes I swear it!) but I have been reading your blog along with other peoples comments too and love every minute of it. I do not blog because then I would have no time to read everyone elses :)
We are thrilled to know you do read the notes of people who have joined your M2B:)!!
No apologies necessary in my book..that’s what “oops” is all about. We love your human down to earth qualities as well as your incredible talents for music and expression.
Keep it up!! We love it!

Hmmm. Just how sorry ARE you? Sorry enough to read MY blog???? SORRY enough to make a COMMENT on my blog? “Yes,” she said consideringly, and twirled the ends of her mustache. We’ll see won’t we, my dear. Rachel and I have a proposal for Lynn, by the way. A mysteeerious proposal.
