After a long day of rehearsing I sat down with Lynne to watch a documentary about Machu Picchu, a place we’ve visited and were fascinated by, but until tonight never truly appreciated its history. The hour we spent watching the program was filled with all the ooohs and aaaaahs that images from that part of Peru inspire. And then of course we kept looking at each other saying, “Did you know that? That’s AMAZING? How come we didn’t know that? Wait, wait wait…did you hear that? “ and then we’d hit pause and comment on the debate about the religious significance of the area. Then we’d hit play and carry on with the televised master class.
At the end of the program I felt terrific. I’d learned so much, in such a marvelous way. I was not only taken away to another place, but transported to another time AND BEST OF ALL, I didn’t have to fast forward through commercials. Do you think heaven’s going to be a little bit like this? Taking classes on the history of the world taught by the people who were there. Look, Lynne, at 3:30 Noah’s doing a class on the flood. Should we go or would you rather listen to Sariah talk about having a baby in her nineties?
Well, I don’t have any idea how things are going to be in the hereafter, I do believe that one of the happiest things about being alive is how much there is to learn. So thank you, PBS, for being my happy moment today. Thanks for broadcasting into my home, without commercials and teaching me so beautifully. Wait a minute, I’m sounding like one of those people during PBS pledge week. Maybe I should volunteer to do a M2B:) concert and then make a pitch for donations to public television. Now, how do I get Dwayne Dyer, Suzie Orman and those Celtic Women to sing back up?

My joy moment today was 3 fold, 1 watching my favorite episode of my favorite t.v. show, 2 watching the current episode on t.v. tonight, and 3 calling a friend to discuss what just happened on our favorite t.v. show. Yea for people with talent who make our life a little more joyful.
My happy moment came last night. Every tuesday evening I get to meet with a group of men all working on overcoming a weakness in our lives. As we were discussing Humility I had one of those ahaa moments when the Attonement came to life in my life and the lives of many in the group. It was a shaired moment of happiness in our Saviors love.
I love PBS. Such wholesome good entertainment. I am always learning something new from that channel. I love the idea of learning an Eternal School! So neat. Thanks for sharing
